Was in New York City last week for the Winter 2007 Hey Hot Shot! reception at Jen Bekman. I can say with confidence that a good time was had by all. The photos, the people, the pizza – all lovely.

Also spent a morning at MoMA, specifically to give my eyes the chance to drink in Jeff Wall’s colossal images. Wall’s work is something I’m tangentially aware of; I know it’s important, but only because I’ve been told it’s important. However, after spending time in their presence (and I mean that – the images themselves demand strict attention), I’m seeking out more and more on Wall.

If you can make it, this show is a must-see. If not, MoMA offers an excellent, excellent site to accompany the exhibition. It’s well designed and attentive to a fair treatment of Wall’s huge works on a small computer screen by providing the ability to zoom and pan around the expansive images:
