My book Ansel Adams | New Landscapes will be on display at the Tower Fine Arts Gallery at SUNY-Brockport as part of their annual student art exhibition. This years installment is called “Etc.” and runs through May 3rd. The show opens this Friday night at 7pm, so stop by if you happen to be in the neighborhood.
In related news, the book was recently reviewed in JAB: The Journal of Artists’ Books and it sounds like they liked it! Below are a few excerpts:
” … this treatment is very funny: one of the few artists’ books that made us laugh out loud when we first saw it, the perfection of the design details creating a seamless simulacra of the dull, grandiose, pointless photobook, which conceals histograms instead of photographs! Titled and presented just like photographs! This book presents a delightful critique of Adams’ work … ”
” … leaves us meditating on the role of craft and obsession, the place for worship of one technology of expression over another, and how tenuously we appreciate art.”
Go get yourself a subscription to JAB, and order up a copy of Ansel Adams | New Landscapes from VSW Press today!
