Like all good consumer-inspired events, Ad|Agency at Boston’s Photographic Rescource Center (PRC) is for a limited time only!!! Exploring our interactions with ads, products, and purchasing, this is the exhibition’s final week and it closes up shop this coming Sunday (01/27). I had a chance to visit recently and was impressed by all the work, especially that of Micheal Mittelman and Penelope Umbrico, both of whom use catalogs as the source material for their work. Check back here tomorrow and Thursday for my thoughts on their pieces in Ad|Agency.
In the meantime, stroll, roll, or T over to the PRC where you’ll find works from Mittleman and Umbrico, as well as those of Brian Ulrich, Dean Kessmann, Hank Willis Thomas, Kate Bingaman-Burt, Johnathon Lewis, Diana Shearwood, and Matt Siber. The show is a great mix of style and approach, and certain to stir your thoughts on our current economic culture and your place within it.
