Four weeks, people. A scant twenty-eight days. Hopefully, something good will happen then. Something that won’t embarrass America. Again.

The thirty designers participating in 30Reasons.org seem to agree. Each day since Sunday, they’ve been emailing a new “poster” to anyone who signs up at their website. (You can also forward the designs, or sign others up for daily emails.)

New designs will be sent out everyday until November 4th, each featuring a reason to vote for Barack Obama. I’ve been trying not to get my hopes too high for Election Day, but these designs – like the ones from Frank Chimero and Chaz Maviyane-Davies – are inspiring and powerful images.

I’m proudly “in the tank” for Obama, and as mystified as I am by those who would oppose him, my most intense perplexity is for those remaining “undecided.” My jerking knee says that if your passion and ire haven’t led you to a choice by now, well then – you haven’t been paying enough attention.

But perhaps all these “undecideds” are just cooler heads. True to form, they’ll prevail – they’ll decide the election. Maybe they just need a little nudge in the right direction. So send ‘em a poster.
