Irving Penn will likely be best remembered for his vast portfolio of iconic celebrity portraits, but his images of frozen food have always been my favorites.
Perfectly weighted compositions in delicate colors, they satisfy my craving for modernist geometry. But going deeper, I feel the joy of someone who saw something visually clever and delightful in a place as mundane as his freezer.
